3D Designing & Printing
By experiencing projects from the model stage to the actual creation of the model, students receive a better understanding of the design process. 3D Designing & Printing provide students with hands-on experience, promoting problem-solving skills and product designing skills.
Why 3D Designing & Printing
Compared to all the other manufacturing technologies, 3D Designing & Printing is much faster. With a 3D printer, you can use fewer materials and still produce complex shapes.
Prosthetic limbs, aeroplane parts, and test models are often created using 3D printing in a variety of disciplines, such as mechanical engineering, aerospace, and robotics. There are many opportunities for visual and practical learning across the sciences with 3D printing.
Our labs aim to teach the ways and methods of 3D Designing & Printing, along with giving the students practical knowledge and hands-on experience on the same. We also aim to provide exposure and an opportunity for the students to gain knowledge and skills in 3D Designing & Printing.
What students will learn through 3D Designing & Printing
Learning Outcomes:
- how to identify and describe the functions of different parts of the 3D Printer
- how to identify and assemble different parts of the printer
- a step-by-step guide to using a 3D printer to suit different parameters
- to check the performance of the 3D printer
- to assemble a 3D printer to demonstrate their understanding of the way it functions
- to answer questions based on assembly, parts and functioning of the 3D printer
- to use the 3D Printer to print complex shapes based on the activities
